Farm & Frills

May 12, 2015

Farm & Frills (1 of 14)

This weekend I went to Farm & Frills antique show in Enumclaw, Washington. It was amazing and totally worth the drive.

The show consisted of knickknacks, homemade items, furniture, and unique planters (like the old fashion washer machine below). The prices were super affordable. I bought a coffee table, an ottoman, and a few other items.

In the beginning I felt overwhelmed, there were so many treasures to ooh and ahh over. We made one round, then circled back to make our purchases. At this point a lot of the items had sold, and vendors were rearranging their booths to fill in the space. Some of the vendors also have a local shop. I made sure to grab flyers/cards for future adventures.

We are moving at the end of the month, and I’m feeling inspired. I can’t wait for next year’s show, maybe I’ll rent a truck! 😀

Polka Dot Pants

Lace & Pearls Polka Dot Pant 1Lace & Pearls Polka Dot Pant 2Lace & Pearls Polka Dot Pant 3Lace & Pearls Polka Dot Pant 4Blouse: J.Crew (similar) | Denim: AG (old) | Necklace: Stella & Dot (old) | Bracelet: J.Crew (identical) | Flats: Sam Edelman | Purse: Rebecca Minkoff (similar) | Lip gloss: Giorgio Armani (color 519) | Lipliner: NARS color Rosebud

These jeans were one of the first pairs of printed denim that I purchased. They are the prettiest shade of  blue with tiny white dots. I love to wear them in the warmer months. The silk blouse is another staple. I’m horrible at keeping white clean, but the reward outweighs the risk.

I’m headed to the Farm & Frills Antique show this weekend with my mom and bestie. I am so excited (see this post from the December show). We are celebrating my best friend’s birthday and going out for dinner afterwards.

For Mother’s Day I’ll be celebrating with my mom and enjoying whatever the day brings. Let’s hope for good food and great weather.

Farm & Frills

December 8, 2014

photo 1This weekend my best friend and I went to Farm & Frills Vintage Christmas Bazaar at the Riverside Valley Grange. This was their second annual Christmas event and our first time attending.  I was expecting a larger venue but instead found that it was in a tiny house. That did not limit the amount of treasures that we found.

The exterior was festively decorated and the perfect setting for some photos.

photo 7photo 11photo 4The booths inside were perfectly curated and so lovely. Stefanie and I visited each spot and then circled back to make our purchases. We both bought decorative windows that can be hung on a wall. I also bought some vintage ornaments, the most adorable white porcelain cat figurines (with metallic gold and red dots), and a mason jar filled with vintage baubles.

We finished up and decided to head over to Sumner. The downtown area on Main Street is so quaint and delightful. Stefanie and I stopped for lunch and then went to explore.

We saw the cutest window display at Madame Hatter.

Another place to check out is New England Saltbox.

Persnickety’s Emporium –  Amazing furniture and decor. A definite must see.

NorthLight Interiors – Beautifully decorated but also very expensive.

Visiting the stores in Sumner got me in the holiday spirit and in the mood to decorate.

The Farm & Frills Holiday Bazaar was also a treat! Steff and I were both impressed with the presentation and the inexpensive prices. The next Farm & Frills is scheduled for May 9, 2015 at the Enumclaw Expo Center. It’s on our calendar.

Do you like interior design and decorating your space? Where do you find inspiration?

Antique Weekend

November 17, 2014

DSC_0038 (resized)Two weekends ago my best friend invited my mom and I to attend the Antique & Collectible Show at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. The show happens twice a year and features items from the 1800s to the 1970s. Growing up my mom was always antiquing and decorating our home. At one point she had a spot at an antique mall. I would help her decorate and price the items. It was a fun hobby that we both enjoyed.

The show itself was full of knickknacks and vintage jewelry (my fav!). I was certain that I wouldn’t buy much because I don’t have the space. I still managed to get in trouble with some amazing vintage baubles! A lot of the pieces that I purchased were from the 30s and 50s.

The vintage toys and books brought back some nostalgia for my childhood.

Another item that I purchased was this cute Fuzzy Wuzzy Bear book that reminded me of the children’s rhyme :

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear
A bear was Fuzzy Wuzzy
But Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair
So he wasn’t fuzzy, was he?

Overall the show was good but came up short in the furniture department. My mom was hoping to spot some unique pieces but there was hardly any furniture at the event. I did get two recommendations from a vendor, one was for Farm & Frills antique show and The Farm Chicks Antique Show that takes place in Spokane, WA Saturday, June 6, 2015 & Sunday, June 7, 2015.

The Farm Chicks Antique show is described as a “bucket list” event with 300 curated spaces filled with antiques, vintage and shabby chic items. I hope I can attend the 2015 show. Check out this Farm Chick video from 2013.

Do you antique? Any recent hauls?
