(1) Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipstick (Moka) (2) Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector (3) Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
A few weekends back, I went to Sephora with my best friend. We were like two kids in a candy store; every display hinted at a promise for the perfect lips, unbelievable lashes, or a flawless complexion. This is nothing new to hard core beauties – I’m probably describing the feeling you get every time you visit a beauty store. For us this was a little outside the norm.
I would not describe myself as a beauty lover, but I’ve been really enjoying a few things from my Sephora haul.
- Bite Beauty Butter Cream Lipstick (Moka)– This brand uses natural and organic ingredients to provide your lips with the perfect pout. The Butter Cream collection is hand cut to allow for the fullest moisture. I normally wear a gloss on the top of my lipstick, but with this one I don’t have to. The texture achieves it’s namesake with a smooth creamy finish.
- Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector – This primer has an oil-control base that is suppose to minimize pores and mattify skin for up to 12 hrs. It can be worn under or on top of your makeup. I wore this primer under my makeup but it only kept me matte for 2-3 hrs. I hope re-applying this product on top of my makeup as a touch up will increase the longevity. I have tried the infamous Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, but it only made me more oily.
- Kat Von D Tattoo Liner– One word, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I have never found an eyeliner that stays on all day. I have extremely oily skin and most makeup slides off within hours, but this stayed on the entire day when pairing it with Smashbox 24 Hour Shadow Primer. I am 100% sold and will not buy anything else. Now, it’s time to practice my cat eye!
Any suggestions on a good primer for oily skin?
Absolutely love sephora but I’ve never tried these products. Looks great! x
I absolutely LOVE Sephora! I have oily skin and I tone before I put my moisturizer on. I use a toner by Simple and it has definitely helped with my oily skin. However, I use Milk of Magnesia as a primer and it has worked wonders. I put out medium sized dots of it on the main spots that are oily. NYX also has a great primer, but I can’t think of the name of it. Once I do I’ll be sure to let you know!
I too use a toner but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. I may check out the Simple one.
I had never heard of Milk of Magnesia. I did some research on it and can’t wait to try. It looks amazing! Thanks for the recommendation. I’m so excited.
Yay! Please let me know how they work for you.
Will do. Thanks!

I’d love to hear how you like the Becca primer/your tips for applying it. I purchased it last summer after hearing rave review, but just find it so frustrating to work with. It’s a real shame because I really want to love it!
Hi Jackie. My technique is not anything special. I literally followed the instructions on the back of the container. I apply a small amount to the tips of my fingers and warm it up. Then I proceed to rub the primer into the areas that are oily. I let the primer set for a minute or two and then apply my foundation over the top.
Have you watched the video on Sephora’s site? It’s at the bottom of the page. Good luck!

Yay! This is me about twice a week 😉 Love the Bite lipstick. My skin is on the dry side so I can’t make any primer recs from personal experience, but on Sephora’s website you can sort by skin type 🙂
Lol! You sound like me except replace Sephora with J.Crew.
Thanks for the tip!
Great post!! ! I’m such a fan of your blog, I really am! Thanks for being such an inspiration!
Aww, thanks Vanessa. That really means a lot to me.

The eye liner sounds like a fantastic product that stays all day, thanks for the review!
Welcome. If you purchase eye liner be sure to wear it with a shadow primer. I wear mine with Smashbox 24 Hour Shadow Primer.
I will 🙂
Ah I really want that Kat Von D eyeliner!! I went to Sephora in Singapore (WA is so far behind everything and we don’t have Sephora yet :() and they didnt have it 🙁
Sorry Jasmine that’s a bummer. Sephora does ship internationally if you buy online. I feel like it’s worth it, but that’s just me. If you do purchase I would suggest using a shadow primer with it.
