I’ve been thinking about reducing the amount of blog post that I do per week. It’s a hard decision to make because I don’t want my blog to appear abandoned but It’s becoming increasingly difficult to produce quality content 3 days a week. I have a lot of ideas for this blog but need more time to work on them. I haven’t made the decision yet but I am seriously considering going from 3 to 2 posts a week.
Going back to this post, I can’t wait for my staycation! I am so burnt out and need time to reflect and get my act together. As amazing as it sounds to stay inside and wear pajamas, watch endless amounts of tv and overindulge in unnecessary food, it wont be long until I want to get something done.
Here is my December task list (some old and new ideas):
- Catch up on my guilty pleasure, CW shows
- The Originals
- Jane the Virgin
- The 100
- Work out
- 4x a week
- Go on a hike at Carkeek Park
- Clean the apartment
- Hang some pictures
- Read some books
- The Fault in our Stars (John Green)
- Psychos (Babe Walker)
- In Defense of Food (Micahel Pollan)
- Do something new, e.g, check out new restaurant or explore an area that I haven’t before
- Bainbridge Island ferry trip
- Visit the new Starbucks Roastery in Capitol Hill
- Hang out with my mom, in-laws, best friend and husband
- Create an editorial calendar for this blog
- See some movies
- Interstellar on the IMAX
- The latest Hunger Games
- Get a massage
Other fun things from this week:
My husband’s birthday was the 15th and his sister made this beautiful German Chocolate cake.
My husband opted for staying in and cooked his own bday dinner using the meal planning site Cook Smarts. If you’re unfamiliar with Cooks Smarts then prepare to be amazed. It’s this great site that provides you with weekly grocery lists and recipes for the week. An added bonus is the awesome videos that teach you the best technique for preparing different foods. My husband does most of the cooking and loves that he no longer has to think about meal planning.
Here’s another delicious meal from this week.
Hey don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself. If you can’t juggle everything, just start blogging 2 times per week. First, no one will judge you. It is better to do these interesting things from your lost and spend time with your family, than to pressure yourself to blog 5 times a week 🙂 ONE DAY AT THE TIME. Kiss, Mel

Thanks Mel! I appreciate your support and feedback.
I was originally trying to post daily. Ha! Now I’m happy if I get up one post a week. I’d rather have one or two quality posts a week than four quickies. Keeping balance in your life is important – if it’s stressing you out it might not be worth it. Do what feels right for your schedule and happiness.
Thanks Adrienne for your empathy and sharing your experiences with blogging. It means a lot and I totally agree, balance is key. 🙂
First of all I would like to start by saying I love your blog and the info and ideas are wonderful.lt is also allowing your followers to really get to know you.I think you are amazing. Some of the things you want to do,like visit the Starbuck’s Roastory, massage, read, these are on my list too.what ever you decide regarding how many post a week, I am sure it will be fine as long as you continue to blog and share you with us.
Thanks mom. I appreciate your kind words. You totally get me, always have! You’re truly my best friend. 🙂
I agree with Mel! Do what’s good for you and your schedule! Overall, blogging should be fun!!! xoxo

Thanks Lena! I’ve been eating that cake all week.
Do what is best for you and I don’t blog all the time, heck I stopped for month and I still had visitors, life happens, we get busy, I have a facetime client in 20 mins, I try and be a good blogger and blog reader in free moments, but it can’t take up our entire life!
Hugs

Thanks Heather. I love your advice. It is much appreciated and made me laugh. Thank you! 🙂
Aw, don’t let blogging stress you out too much! It’s supposed to be a fun, creative outlet (at least it is for me). If Jules and I didn’t share the blog, I can’t imagine having enough time to do posts every day. So don’t put pressure on yourself my dear 🙂 And enjoy your staycation!
Such kind words and right on. I needed to hear them. Thank you!
The countdown to my staycation begins. Thanks! 🙂
I feel like this is one of the biggest struggles for bloggers. I always wrestle with not being able to post consistently because of all the other responsibilities I have in my life. You’ll figure it out and your followers will still be thrilled no matter how much you post 🙂

Hi Kaley. Thanks for stopping by. You have such a lovely blog. Glad I could inspire you. Happy Holidays to you as well!
Asa, thanks for sharing Cook Smarts! We’re so glad that it’s helping your husband in the kitchen and you get to benefit from new meals! Love it and happy, happy holidays!
Thank you so much! We’ve had a lot of fun cooking/eating from your meal plans.
I can relate, Asa! It can feel overwhelming at times, but I try to remind myself that blogging is supposed to be a fun, creative and positive experience. Your blog radiates sincerity and positivity, and whether you post once a week or 5x a week, it will continue to grow because of this. Enjoy your staycation and happy holidays to you and your family. :)Tania
Thanks Tania for the encouragement and kind words. It means so much.
Happy Holidays to you too!
Quality over quantity, any day.
Glad you are making a dent in the cake.
Enjoy the well-deserved time off.
I agree a hundred percent.
Thanks Sarah, the cake was delish.
Enjoy your time off as well. 🙂
Sometimes what we all need is a quiet moment to gather what works best for our schedule. Going to 2 posts a week will still engage your readers/followers. Hoping that massage helps in relaxing and ‘getting away’ from the everyday hustle. Happy New Year!
Wow what a lovely comment. Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback and the positive reinforcement. I appreciate so much! Thank you. 😀
