During the long holiday weekend, I struggled to relax. Instead of enjoying my time off I was frantically feeling like I needed to get things done – clean, workout, or write content for this blog. Over the holidays I will be taking some time off. I want to enjoy this break and learn how to relax.
I would like to accomplish the following during this time:
- Go for a hike – I do the majority of my workouts indoors, but I would love to change things up and get outside. There are so many great places to explore in my area. I hope to get a jump start on this soon.
- Get a massage – The last time I got a massage, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of stress that was released from my body. Even after a few days, I still felt relaxed.
- Look into acupuncture – I have heard so many great things about the benefits of acupuncture and would like to give it a try.
- See a movie – The only time we end up going to the theater is during the holidays or during vacation. I want to see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
- Visit a new restaurant – there are a lot of new restaurants popping up in Seattle. As much as I prefer to stay home, it’s time to venture out and explore.
How do you relax? Let me know what works for you?
I think you’ve pretty much nailed all my relaxation techniques Asa – we’re very alike for chilling out 😀 Karen x
That’s awesome! Have you tried acupuncture before? If so, how did you like?
No Asa – that’s the one thing I haven’t tried but would love too!! I’ve heard great things about it, how do you find it?
There are a lot of places in my area that offer acupuncture. I would recommend doing an online search for places in your area/read reviews.
Might give it a go in the new year Asa 🙂 X
If you do, let me know what you think.
Will do huni 🙂 X
Great tips girl!
Thank you! 🙂
A much needed advice today, I love yoga sessions too, they really make me feel at Zen 🙂 Have a lovely day love! 🙂 xo~ Lena

Thank you. I’ve always wanted to try yoga but never have. I don’t want to go by myself. Maybe I’ll put on my list of goals and make it happen. 🙂
Happy relaxing!! xoxo
Thank you
Great ideas and you are right, there is not enough relaxing when the holidays roll around, we get caught up in the craziness and forget to just chill.

If I need to relax, it’s always good to have a day with absolutely zero plans or obligations…I end up just curled up on the couch watch Netflix for hours, which is just what I need sometimes! Getting a massage or pampering myself with an at-home mani is another great option…and I always love hitting the movie theater (Mockingjay was pretty good)!

Love your comments Mil. You know how to relax. You sound a lot like me. I love curling up on the couch and watching Netflixs or some other show. It’s the best.
I heard Mockingjay wasn’t as good as the first two movies, but I still want to see. I read the books, did you?
Oh yes I’m the queen of relaxation 🙂 Mockingjay wasn’t my favorite of the movies, but I did enjoy it. I think my expectations were low because I really didn’t like the third book. The movie wasn’t bad though! The biggest problem (in my opinion) was that they shouldn’t have split Mockingjay into two movies….
I didn’t like the third book either. Glad I’m not the only one. 🙂
They are brilliant relaxing tips! I like to have a bubble bath and read my book 🙂 xx
Thanks Rachel. I love bubble baths and reading too. Any good book recommendations?
I finished a book the other week called The Beach Cafe and that was good now I am reading Girl Online by Zoe Sugg and it is very good so far! The Beach Cafe is quite a short book compared to others I have read but it was a nice change and I really enjoyed it 🙂 xx
Awesome. I’ll add those to my list to check out. Thanks! 🙂
No problem! Have you got any good recommendations? 🙂 xx
I use to read a lot but haven’t had much time lately. The last book I read was Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. It was a cute story. Kinsella is the author of the Shopaholic series. Not sure you’re familiar but I really like her books.
Ah I will check them out. Thanks! Xx
Welcome
Hot cup of tea, a good book or the gym 🙂 As for acupuncture, I can personally attest to it! Every body is different, but I’ve had such great results and go for treatment on a regular basis. I had a serious injury after performing in a show, and the only thing that got me back on my feet was acupuncture in combination with other traditional Chinese medicine techniques. If you try it, let me know if it works for you. In some cases it can take some time to see results, so patience is key!

Love all of your suggestions: tea, book, and gym. Those are my daily go-to’s. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on acupuncture. It’s helpful to hear your story and how you benefited. I will definitely share my thoughts once I go. I’m excited to try.
